China Celebrates 75 Years of Progress

President Xi Jinping has hailed China’s remarkable progress over 75 years, citing the nation’s transformation from poverty and weakness to prosperity and strength. In a landmark speech celebrating the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, President Xi emphasized the Communist Party of China’s pivotal role in driving growth and social stability. He attributed China’s achievements to the party’s strong leadership and commitment to socialism with Chinese characteristics.

“The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is a shared will,” President Xi stated, underscoring the importance of unity among all Chinese people, including those in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and abroad.

China’s economic prowess has grown significantly, with its GDP soaring from $9.6 billion in 1952 to over $17.8 trillion in 2023 . The country now ranks as the world’s second-largest economy, largest manufacturer, and largest trader in goods.

President Xi reaffirmed China’s dedication to peaceful development, global cooperation, and shared human values. He emphasized the nation’s commitment to safeguarding peace, promoting common development, and advancing humanity’s shared future.

The president honored past leaders and revolutionary heroes who contributed to China’s founding and prosperity, acknowledging their dreams are being realized through ongoing progress. As China embarks on its new journey, President Xi urged the nation to stay committed to its core values, prioritize people’s welfare, and strive for high-quality development.

“We will resolutely overcome all uncertainties and challenges,” President Xi declared, expressing confidence in China’s ability to overcome obstacles and achieve greater success. The anniversary celebration was attended by dignitaries from China and around the world.
