I still recall the excitement I felt when I received an invitation to cover the China Two Sessions in Beijing. As a journalist, this was a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the country’s most important annual political event. I left Nigeria on March 2nd, hoping to return on March 18th, armed with a wealth of knowledge and insights to share with my audience.
However, circumstances beyond my control had other plans. After completing my assignment in Beijing, I boarded an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Beijing to Addis Ababa, eager to return home. But, just as we were about to take off, the flight was delayed due to technical reasons.
Although it was inconvenient to wait for an hour and a half before boarding, I appreciated Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to ensuring our safety. The delay resulted in a revised flight plan, with a brief layover in Muscat International Airport, Oman before continuing on to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Throughout the journey, the airline’s crew and staff handled the situation professionally and efficiently. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, we were accommodated in a hotel overnight, with a rescheduled flight for the next day.
As I reflected on my journey, I was impressed by Ethiopian Airlines’ dedication to safety. In a world where air travel can sometimes be unpredictable, it’s reassuring to know that some airlines prioritize safety above all else.
Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to safety is a testament to the airline’s values and professionalism. Although my journey was longer than expected, I appreciate the airline’s efforts to ensure our safe passage.
As I await my rescheduled flight, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my experience with Ethiopian Airlines. Despite the unexpected delay, I remain impressed by the airline’s dedication to safety and customer care.
