The #VisaFreeAfrica campaign received a significant boost at Independence Square in Accra, where campaigners were warmly welcomed by Ghana’s Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, Shamima Muslim. The campaign, aiming for a visa-free Africa by 2030, has been powered by partners, a dedicated team, and media across the continent.
“We’re grateful to every journalist, broadcaster, and outlet that shared our story,” said a campaign spokesperson. “Your coverage turned advocacy into a movement.” Special thanks were extended to Francis Kokutse for arranging media coverage across several African countries.
The campaign acknowledged the support of Ghana’s government, including Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, for their role in elevating the message to diplomatic levels.
“We left Accra dreaming of One Africa. We returned with proof: borders can fall, hearts can unite, tourism can boom, and unity is within reach,” the spokesperson added. The campaign calls on Africans to join the push for #VisaFreeAfricaBy2030, urging leaders to make it a reality.
