The Institute For Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) and the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance peace and promote a unified Nigeria.

IPCR Director General, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, emphasized the need for concerted efforts from all stakeholders to secure and sustain peace in Nigeria. “Peace is all-inclusive. No single institution can do it alone,” he said, highlighting the importance of collaboration between government institutions, media organizations, and civil society.

The partnership aims to promote ethical online journalism, peacebuilding initiatives, and research on the impact of online media on conflict dynamics. The agreement includes joint publications, information exchange, and participation in each other’s events.

Dr. Ochogwu cautioned against destructive criticisms, saying, “Your nation is like your family. When you constantly pull it down, outsiders begin to see it as broken.”

ACOE Chairman, Shola Akingboye, commended Dr. Ochogwu’s efforts and pledged ACOE’s commitment to supporting IPCR’s mission. “We can leverage digital platforms to showcase IPCR’s positive works, enhancing its online visibility and contributing to peace in Nigeria,” he said.

The partnership is expected to amplify voices for peace, dialogue, and development in Nigeria and across Africa.
