The Nigerian Community in China, led by President Ade-Peters Olanrewaju Oba, has welcomed the landmark partnership between Enugu State and the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) at a ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Guangzhou.
The partnership, which was signed on September 8th, 2024, marks a significant milestone in the relations between Nigeria and China, and is expected to bring transformative change to Enugu State through infrastructure development, trade, and investment.
In his goodwill message, President Oba praised the partnership as a symbol of international cooperation, cultural exchange, and shared aspirations, and commended the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, for his proactive approach to international partnerships and commitment to the development of the state.
The partnership is expected to unlock new opportunities in infrastructure development, trade, and investment, and will open doors for technology transfer, job creation, and skills development, particularly for the youth.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Consul-General of Nigeria in China, Amb. George Collins Onwuekwe, Chinese officials, and representatives from the China Communications Construction Company.
In his remarks, President Oba urged all stakeholders involved to seize the opportunity with enthusiasm, dedication, and a spirit of collaboration, and thanked the China Communications Construction Company for believing in Enugu State.
The partnership is seen as a significant step towards realizing President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” and is expected to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development goals of Enugu State and Nigeria.
