Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to ECOWAS Presents Credentials

Ambassador Olawale Emmanuel Awe, Nigeria’s new Permanent Representative to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu Touray.

Ambassador Awe expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing him to the role and pledged to discharge his duties to the fullest for Nigeria’s benefit. He has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to ECOWAS integration and cooperation.

“I am honored to be appointed as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to ECOWAS,” Ambassador Awe said. “I promise to work tirelessly to strengthen regional cooperation and promote Nigeria’s interests.”

President Touray welcomed Ambassador Awe and expressed confidence in his ability to reinforce Nigeria’s leadership role in ECOWAS. Touray emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in addressing global challenges, stating that “if we prioritize humanity, we can tackle global challenges more effectively.”

The event reaffirmed ECOWAS’ commitment to fostering strong partnerships for shared prosperity and collective responsibility in addressing global challenges.

A brief reception followed the presentation of credentials attended by friends, dignitaries, and the diplomatic community, who gathered to celebrate Ambassador Awe’s appointment.
