NYSC and ACOE Strengthen Partnership for National Unity and Media Cooperation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the media in strengthening national unity, promoting youth empowerment, and enhancing accurate reportage of its activities.

This was made clear during a courtesy visit by the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja. NYSC Director-General, Brig. General Nafiu Olayinka, represented by Mr. Emeka Rems Mgbemena, emphasized the central role of communication in supporting the scheme’s mandate.ยน

The partnership aims to foster national cohesion, discourage divisive narratives and stereotypes, and equip young Nigerians with skills contributing to the country’s economic development.

NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Caroline Embu, appealed to journalists to verify information before publication, stressing the importance of balanced reporting in safeguarding the scheme’s credibility.

The visit ended with mutual assurances of continued cooperation, driving shared objectives of youth development, national integration, and responsible journalism.
