President Bola Tinubu has demanded an immediate end to Israeli aggression in Gaza, emphasizing the need to prioritize innocent lives over political aims or military strategies ¹. Speaking at the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, President Tinubu reiterated Nigeria’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and reaffirmed the country’s support for a two-state solution.

End to Israeli Aggression: President Tinubu demanded an end to Israeli aggression in Gaza, emphasizing the need to prioritize innocent lives over political aims or military strategies.
Two-State Solution: He advocated for a two-state solution, recognizing the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians to self-determination and peace.
Respect for International Law: President Tinubu called on parties to respect the principles of proportionality and basic rights of civilians, consistent with global legal and diplomatic frameworks.
Global Support: He urged the international community to support diplomatic efforts towards a sustainable peace in the Middle East.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has also stressed the need for a two-state solution, emphasizing that it is the only way to address the legitimate aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians .The international community is increasingly recognizing the urgency of resolving the conflict, with many leaders calling for a renewed commitment to dialogue and compromise.
