The 12th China-Nigeria Cultural Fiesta 2024 dancing competition brought together the vibrant cultures of China and Nigeria in a spectacular event held at the China Cultural Center in Abuja, Nigeria. The exciting competition, organized by the China Cultural Center and the FCT-Secondary Education Board, featured 12 schools showcasing the rich cultural heritage of both countries. This annual event aims to promote cultural exchange and people-to-people friendships between China and Nigeria

Yang Jianxing, Director of the China Cultural Center, emphasized the significance of culture in national development and social progress, highlighting that both Nigeria and China are cultural giants with a long history ยน. He noted that the China-Nigeria Cultural Fiesta provides an amazing platform to strengthen the bond of friendship between both countries through dance and musical performances.

The event celebrated cultural exchange and harmony between the two nations, fostering communication and cooperation by sharing cultural values through festivals and artistic expressions. As the competition came to an end, winners took home prizes, symbolizing unity in diversity.

This cultural fiesta is not a one-time event; it has been a recurring celebration of the China-Nigeria cultural exchange. Last year’s edition saw students from 12 public schools in Abuja competing in Chinese and Nigerian dance categories .     – 3rd Place: Government Secondary School, Apo, Army Day Secondary School, Asokoro, and Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse

Nigerian Dance Category:

    – 1st Place: Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse

    – 2nd Place: Government Day Secondary School, Dutse, and Government Secondary School, Mpape

    – 3rd Place: Government Secondary School, Gwarinpa, Government Day Secondary School, Wuse II, and Government Secondary School, Garki
