The out going Bulgarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yanko Yordanov, has commended the media for its pivotal role in fortifying bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Nigeria. Speaking at the Excellence Award ceremony organized by Diplomat Extra Magazine in Abuja, Yordanov expressed gratitude for the media’s support.
Yordanov highlighted the media’s crucial role in facilitating people-to-people contact and fostering a deeper understanding between the two nations. “I consider this award a very important milestone showing that Bulgaria and Nigeria moved forward in these recent times, and we have succeeded in building a very strong bond,” he said.
The Ambassador praised the positive energy and willingness to work towards a better relationship that he encountered during his interactions with Nigeria’s media. He expressed hope that this cooperation would lead to mutual interest and prosperity for both nations.
Earrliar before the presentation, the Former Spokesperson to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ogbole Ode, praised Yordanov’s efforts, noting that his approach was worthy of emulation. Dr. Oche-Martin Ejembi, a Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology, emphasized the need for Nigeria and Bulgaria to strengthen their existing relationship to reclaim lost achievements.
With over sixty years of diplomatic relations, both countries are optimistic about the potential for more result-oriented cooperation. The media’s continued support is expected to play a vital role in achieving greater success in the future.
