Khaled El-Enany Presents Vision for a More Inclusive UNESCO

Professor Khaled El-Enany, the official candidate of the African Union and the League of Arab States, formally submitted his vision for the future of UNESCO on March 15, 2025. With over 30 years of experience and extensive global travel, El-Enany’s vision emphasizes inclusive governance, stronger representation for the Global South, and ethical use of artificial intelligence.

 El-Enany advocates for a stronger UNESCO presence on the ground, promoting more inclusive governance and innovative financing policies. On Culture, Education, Science, and Intercultural Dialogue, his vision  vision, aiming to foster global understanding and cooperation. Likewise El-Enany emphasizes a pragmatic approach, attentive to people’s needs and the major challenges of our time.

El-Enany’s candidacy has received widespread support, including three endorsements from the African Union and additional endorsements from several countries and international partners. His vision embodies the ambition for a renewed, responsive, and united multilateralism.

On April 9, 2025, El-Enany presented his vision to the UNESCO Executive Board, outlining his plans for a more inclusive and responsive organization. His candidacy reflects a strong desire to make UNESCO an organization that is closer to the people. El-Enany’s vision aims to promote a united and supportive multilateralism, driven by a commitment to education, culture, science, and intercultural dialogue. With his extensive experience and broad international support, El-Enany is well-positioned to lead UNESCO towards a more inclusive and responsive future.
